Bisbee’s 2026: Cabo’s Legendary Fishing Tournaments Return This October with an $11.5M+ Purse
Every October, Cabo San Lucas becomes the sportfishing capital of the world. The Bisbee’s tournament series — the richest fishing tournaments on the planet — returns in 2026 with two back-to-back weeks of world-class competition, dockside parties and multimillion-dollar payouts.
Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore — October 12–17
Known as the “Little Bisbee’s”, the LCO is the high-energy warm-up: besides the prestigious billfish division it pays out valuable tuna and dorado categories, and recent purses have blown past $2.7 million USD.
Bisbee’s Black & Blue — October 19–24
The main event since 1981. More than 150 teams hunt giant black and blue marlin for a record purse that now exceeds $11.5 million USD, with individual payouts that have reached $4 million. Registration, captains’ meetings and the awards celebration all happen at Puerto Paraiso Mall, right on the marina.
Tips if you are visiting that week
- Book early. Hotels and vacation rentals near the marina sell out months ahead.
- Go see the weigh-ins. They are free, open to the public and genuinely thrilling — 500 lb marlin coming onto the scale at sunset.
- Get on the water yourself. Even if you are not competing, October is prime time for boat tours, snorkeling and sailing around the Arch.
